Teaching kids to love swimming and to be water safe.
OUR MISSION
A wholistic approach to swim education through developmental based learning for maximum success and safety at any age or stage.
OUR CORE VALUES
UNITY
kidSwim views unity as an essential component of our value system. We have the utmost respect for our team and clients, and continually strive to provide support to the best of our ability. We promote open communication, enthusiastically acknowledge successes, continuously demonstrate appreciation and always take your needs into consideration when changes are made.
COMMUNITY
The kidSwim community consists of three main tiers: the internal kidSwim community which includes all instructors and the management team, the kidSwim client community, and the cities we serve. It is imperative that we permeate in all of these tiers a sense of belonging, understanding and inclusion.
FUN
To create an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment that keeps everyone invested. Fun keeps our team invested in doing their jobs, it keeps the kids invested in learning to swim, and it keeps the parents invested in wanting to keep working with us. Even more, it’s an inherent part of the developmental process. Having fun keeps everyone engaged!
OUR METHOD
We have proudly created The kidSwim Method™ which actually details how we utilize a developmental approach in order to maximize effective and positive learning for each and every child we work with.
Aligning with the American Academy of Pediatrics’ guidelines for developmental milestones, we address swim skills in the same format that they do, from a motor/communication/sensory framework. Our developmental swim method approaches teaching kids to love the water at each age and stage, focusing on specific motor/communication/sensory skill development.
Our program is designed to enhance and support those skills and that growth. In addition, we add safety words and physical skills that are developmentally appropriate to the age group.
This is the key to real learning — meeting each child where they are developmentally. Once they’ve gained confidence and acquired specific water skills, we can push them beyond their comfort zone.
